Warriors Start Season 0-2

The Brookline Warrior Boys Basketball team scuffled to an 0-2 start to the 2015-16 season with losses on the road to Needham and Norwood. With the team only returning three varsity players, epidemic many new Warriors had to undergo a baptism by fire to begin their varsity careers. On Friday, 12/11, Brookline let a back and forth game slip away in the last minute and lost to Needham 56-48. Tavian Morrison led all Warriors with 14 points. On Tuesday, 12/15, missed first half opportunities and a huge (44-22) rebounding deficit led to a 56-47 defeat to Norwood. Brookline Tab

Once again the Brookline Warriors will be entering a team in the Beantown Slam Fall League, health one of the top preseason leagues in the area year in and year out. This fall, try 24 of the best boys programs in Eastern Massachusetts will be competing. All games will be held at New Mission High School in Hyde Park.  Here is Brookline's schedule (all times PM except where noted):

On the way to the finals, click the Warriors won playoff games against West Roxbury and Brighton before avenging their only league loss by beating New Mission in the semifinals. The freshman will go from 3:15-5:15, while the upper three classes will go from 5:15-7:30. In order to be cleared to tryout, a player must be registered with the BHS athletic office and must have handed in a physical exam. Warriors Fall Youth Clinics

Once again this fall, rx the Brookline Warriors Boys' Basketball program will be conducting skills clinics in Schluntz Gymnasium for players ages 8-14. The clinics will be held from 7:00-8:30 on Wednesday nights beginning 9/30 and continuing through 10/28. They will be conducted by head coach Luke Day and coaches from the Brookline Basketball staff. Current Brookline players will also be on hand to demonstrate skills and drills and to coach and encourage the younger players. Cost is $25 per session, viagra but only $100 for all 5 sessions. Brookline Hoops Is Back!

September is here, glaucoma school has started, patient and after a little time off at the end of a busy and productive summer, Brookline Hoops is back. The Beantown Slam Fall League at New Mission HS in Hyde Park begins Friday, 9/11, at 6:15 vs. North Quincy. The full schedule is below in "Upcoming Games." Our regular Thursday night open gyms begin this week also, while strength & conditioning workouts begin next week. Finally, the dates of our fall youth clinics will be announced soon. We have a lot to do, and there's no time to lose: Tryouts are Monday, 11/30, and the opener at Needham is less than two weeks later on Friday, 12/11. Let's get started!

After a relatively quiet spring as players dispersed to various to various AAU programs, online the BHS Boys Basketball program is gearing up for a busy summer. Our Varsity spring league team is coming off a victory over Walpole Monday night and is looking to finish strong in its final game against Foxboro next week. Meanwhile, physician our JV summer league team is off to a 2-0 start. Looking forward, sildenafil the 2nd annual Brookline Warriors Summer Basketball Clinic for boys 8-14 will be held June 29-July 2 (see post below for more info and a registration form). The response has been terrific, and we're well ahead of last year in terms of sign ups. We'll also begin a new program - "Basketball Night in Brookline" - on July 7. "BNIB" is 10 nights (Tuesdays and Thursdays for 5 weeks) of skill work and open play for boys from 5th to 12th grade, all staffed by BHS coaches, alumni and players, and youth coaches from the community. Finally, while we're not running the Brookline Varsity Summer League this year, the Warriors varsity will be competing in 3 tournaments over the course of the summer. The first of these is the BU Shootout on Friday and Saturday, June 26-27. The schedule for this event will be posted as soon as it comes available. The Warriors will also be competing in the Wally Seaver Invitational July 11-12, and the Summer Showdown August 1-2, both at Mass Premier Courts in Foxboro. Brookline High School Boys Basketball is proud to announce a new program for the summer of 2015: Basketball Night in Brookline. BNIB is a 5 week skill development program, order on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning July 7, in which players of all ages can come to Schluntz Gymnasium at the high school and receive outstanding coaching from the BHS coaching staff, BHS alumni, and youth coaches from the town of Brookline. And all for free, thanks in part to a generous grant from the Brookline Community Foundation. Rising 5th through 8th graders will go from 5:00-7:00 each night, coached mainly by Luke Day and the BHS coaching staff, while rising 9th through 12th graders will go from 7:00-9:00, coached by BHS alumni and ex-coaches, and by youth coaches from the community. This is a great opportunity for players at all levels throughout Brookline to come to the high school, work hard, receive great coaching, have fun and improve. 2015 Summer Clinic

We are proud to announce that applications for the 2nd annual Brookline Warriors Summer Basketball Clinic are now being accepted. The Clinic will run June 29-July 2 (Monday-Thursday) from 9:00-3:00 in Schluntz Gymnasium at the high school. Boys ages 8-14 are eligible. Brookline HS head coach Luke Day is the Clinic director, capsule and the staff includes BHS JV coach Dave Ford and Freshman coach Darren Martinez. The Brookline Warriors Summer Basketball Clinic is committed to delivering high quality instruction on individual and team basketball skills. Daily activities – including drills, games, competitions and lectures – are planned to maximize both player improvement and player enjoyment. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability. Each will be placed on a team of no more than 10, with a coach for the week. Daily emphasis will be put on shooting, ball handling, offensive team play, rebounding, defense and other fundamental skills. Campers will not only improve on a day-to-day basis, but will take away from the camp specific knowledge about how they can keep improving. We are just as importantly committed to every camper having fun and developing a lifelong passion for the game of basketball.
